ORE Catapult intends to expand its cable testing capabilities by asking a contractor to provide a detailed design for a dynamic cable compression test rig that is capable of simulating in-service dynamic loads for floating offshore wind (FOW) applications.
Fundamentally, the rig design is expected to comprise of:
⢠A steel frame.
⢠End terminations.
⢠Bending Actuators.
⢠Horizontal tension/compression Actuator.
⢠The cable specimen (during testing).
⢠Ancillary mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control system
