Leicestershire County Council wishes to appoint a supplier to undertake analysis of the cost of care in the local residential care market, prior to the implementation of new fees in April 2022.
The cost of care analysis required will be specific to Leicestershire. A 'generic' or national sector pricing model is not considered to be sufficient to achieve a genuine understanding of what constitutes a local sustainable price, specific to the local market.
The Council wishes to establish a local sustainable fee structure, i.e. a price that allows the market to deliver care of the required standard, comply with legal requirements and receive a reasonable return so that their business can remain sustainable, and that care remains stable for people using the services.
