People are generally happier living as independently as possible in surroundings they are familiar with and staying connected to their families, friends, and neighbours. This preference is at the very heart of Hampshire County Council's vision for Hampshire residents to live long, healthy, and happier lives with the maximum possible independence. Hampshire County Council also recognises that for many older people a time may come when living at home is no longer safe or comfortable.
