East Northamptonshire Council has been operating a food waste collection since August 2011. The collection of food waste is an opt-in service where residents have the choice to present a 23 litre food waste bin.
For the year 2018 the weight of waste collected per month was approximately 220 tonnes for the whole district.
The Council requires a Contractor to receive quantities of collected food waste material and dispose of it.
