Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire, and Milton Keynes shared Public Health team are developing an Integrated Behaviour Change Service (IBCS) that will be delivered and managed in-house.
The service will embed motivational interviewing throughout the practice of the IBCS through guidance, training, and support. To achieve this vision, we are commissioning a provider to create, deliver and assess a staff training and support package that centres on motivational interviewing and other relevant approaches to initiate and maintain behaviour change.
The initial aim of the service will be to support residents to quit smoking and/or lose weight.
