To establish a register of college and university graduates in each discipline, supported through appropriate interactive network media, and to encourage participation in professional engagement and development activities throughout their careers'. This will be achieved by enrolling completing students from member Colleges and Universities, who agree to their data being included, in a professional register, ordering them by qualification, interest and occupation. By keeping in touch with them electronically throughout their careers, development opportunities will be presented and professional updating will take place.
There will be no charge associated with joining the register, but there may be future opportunities to raise funds to support the initiative by charging for services such as the promotion of CPD and other activities to members. It is important that the ongoing maintenance costs, including continual cleansing of the data are modest and do not challenge the sustainability of the project. The primary purpose of the Professional Register is to help the members connect with college and university graduates (Those already working in the industry would be encouraged to register also) to participate in professional engagement and development activities throughout their careers.
