North Star Housing Groupâ¯andâ¯Castles and Coastsâ¯wish to commission aâ¯frameworkâ¯for the provision of legal services from independent firms of solicitors in the private sector to supportâ¯the delivery of a range of housing related activities.
It is estimated that the contract value is likely to be around £600k per annum with an overall contract value of around £3m over the full term of this contract including any extensions. This figure is an estimate only and may be exceeded. However, no guarantee is given as to any level of business to be awarded through the framework.â¯
North Star is acting as lead contracting authority in this exercise. There is also the possibility of membership of the framework extending to other housing associations in the North of England.â¯
The requirement will be offered acrossâ¯threeâ¯mainâ¯areasâ¯as follows:â¯
Areaâ¯1 - Property Transactions, Development and Construction.â¯
To include all types of conveyancing and non-contentious housing,â¯proprietorâ¯andâ¯tenant lawâ¯as well as to include all construction contracts or development agreements.â¯Also, to include support with disrepair claims and Health and Safety mattersâ¯
Areaâ¯2 - Housing Management and Dispute Resolutionâ¯
To include all types of housing litigation, dilapidations, court possessionsâ¯and general contentious workâ¯
Area 3â¯- Corporate andâ¯Commercialâ¯
To include governance, employment, pensions, treasury loans and finance.â¯
Interested parties do not have to express interest in all areas. The consortium expects to awardâ¯multiple bidders to cover each areaâ¯but also reserves the right to not make any awardâ¯in respect of any of the areas.
