Surrey County Council (SCC) is looking to procure a Contractor to deliver Property Flood Resilience (PFR) measures to properties within the Alfold Crossways catchment area.
The Alfold Crossways flood alleviation scheme (FAS) aims to reduce the flood risk to properties, infrastructure and the community through a programme of interventions throughout the catchment over the medium to long term. As the scheme is primarily related to surface water flooding and all of the properties affected are located within Surrey,â¯Surrey County Council (SCC) asâ¯Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA)â¯isâ¯leading on the scheme.â¯
The scheme will involve fitting PFRâ¯measures to individual properties to reduce the impact of flooding to households during a flood incident.⯠These measures include fitting products to buildings such as flood-proof doors, non-return valves and airbrick covers to prevent flood water entering the home.⯠Improvements can also be made internally to reduce the damage should flood water get into a property.â¯
A total of 36 properties are targeted for the scheme as determined through the outline business case as either being modelled at very high risk of surface water flooding or we have evidence of historic internal flooding at the property.
