Requirement:
Cefas require 8 or 16 Alpha Detectors (price dependent), ideally 150mm2 Silicon Surface Barrier (SSB) detectors but Ion Implanted versions of either 150 mm2 or 300mm2 would be considered. Each detector is to have a rear mounted microdot connector and must be compatible with Ametek Ensemble detector arrays. Units have to be extremely low/zero background and high efficiency across the whole range of alpha energies, to enable assay of alpha emitting radionuclides down to the Bq level (microBequerel).
