The ultimate aim of the work is to upgrade the digital system underpinning the UK Greenhouse Gas Inventory. This system used to calculate UK GHG emissions - which underpins our domestic and international emissions reductions targets - relies in many places on legacy software systems which no longer reflect state-of-the-art tools for processing large datasets.
The first step is to clearly establish the operational & user requirements for a new system, and translate these requirements into a digital specification, which would be significantly more streamlined than the current system. This project will undertake the work to establish requirements and specify them in a digital requirement.
This should ensure the digital specification of work to be undertaken - and the quality of deliverables - is specified correctly, and in sufficient detail to guarantee a high-quality product, with these specific deliverables after this initial stage of the work:
