Fire Risk Management System to the BS 9997:2019 standard

High priority appraisal work for the HM Prisons and Probation Service Fire Risk Management System, the service will ensure HMPPS achieve Certification of the Fire Risk Management System to the BS 9997:2019 standard.

Certification consists of a two part audit and will apply to all Public Sector Prisons;

Part 1 is a check on documentation based upon the BS 9997 requirements. Once content that the fire risk management system documentation complies with the standard- can move on to:

Part 2 of the audit. This will be a remote audit with no need to visit sites. This will allow the auditors to check the functioning of the management system by speaking with staff operating the systems
