National Data Architecture (NDA) - Data Management

This requirement is for the ability to use Ab Initio's software, to allow the NDA programme to progress with Beta stage work.

Ab Initio has a meta data management tool, used to provide:

• Information about data such as data attribute names, data attribute nomenclature, relationships between attributes, data policies etc.

• An authoritative source of meta data providing a catalogue of data attributes or groups of data attributes and their associated definitions, polices etc.

• Linking of data attributes from source to destination model, module, DDB etc.

• Relationships between data attributes providing a hierarchy where applicable for re-use of common data attribute policies etc.

• Tagging information about data attributes which explain how these data attributes group together into modules and/or DDB's

• Versioning and historical information of data attributes, definitions, policies, DDB's, modules etc.

• Cardinality relationship information between data attributes, definitions, policies, DDB's, modules etc.

• Linking information between reference data and associated meta data.

• Intelligent data ingestion from various sources including; excel, XML, Databases, Data warehouses, schemas, SQL, ETL

The justification, for a STA, is that a contract could not be awarded following a procurement in 2017 and that a proof of concept in early 2018 demonstrated that further exploratory work should be conducted before a full requirement can be drafted, allowing for a competitive procurement to be conducted. This Tooling product has unique technical attributes to enable Beta work to be conducted. A Prior Information Notice was published in December 2018 (PIN ref: 2018/S 239-545971) to allow this requirement to be openly competed for any future contract award.
