The District Council has commenced a Local Plan Review for South Lakeland, outside the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. The role of the Local Plan is to set out a vision and framework for the future development of the district. The updated Plan will cover the period 2016 to 2040.
The Council is undertaking early engagement with stakeholders and communities and also updating its evidence base for the Review - including a Call for Sites commencing July 2020 as part of updating its Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment. The Council is seeking to establish a framework for suppliers of professional specialist advice and services to be drawn upon throughout the review process for the 4 years 2020/21 to 2023/24.
