In April 2022, DfE published its flagship Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy for the education and children's services systems. Alongside action on education infrastructure and estates, the strategy sets out actions to equip children, young people, and adult learners with the knowledge and skills to contribute to the green economy.
The International Green Skills Conference is an explicit commitment in this public strategy. It will bring together leaders from the further and higher education sectors, business, young people, adult learners and policymakers in the UK and internationally. It will provide the opportunity for these groups to build partnerships and accelerate the provision of green skills training and the update of green career pathways in support of the transition to net zero and the restoration of biodiversity.
