The works comprise the replacement of existing roof coverings and insulation with a new fire-resistant insulation and felt covering.
To enable the works aluminium cladding panels will be removed from the roof parapet wall on the majority of blocks and modified on some to allow the new felt to be lapped up and over the wall.
New Contractor designed weighted perimeter edge protection systems will be installed to the majority of blocks.
Photovoltaic systems will also be installed on the roofs which will be another Contractor designed element.
Existing lightning protection systems along with motor room doors will be inspected and any remedial works carried out as required.
