Roedd yr adroddiad a gyhoeddwyd yn 2021, Cryfhau a hyrwyddo cydraddoldeb a hawliau dynol yng Nghymru, hefyd o’r farn bod angen cryfhau dealltwriaeth y cyhoedd yn hyn o beth. / This commission is being undertaken in a context where public understanding of human rights is challenged by highly polarised debate and persistent misconceptions, reinforced by the speed and reach of online and social media. In Wales, internal survey evidence suggests a sizeable proportion of people view human rights as conditional and linked to deservingness and citizenship. The 2021 Strengthening and Advancing Equality and Human Rights in Wales report also identified a need to strengthen public understanding. This commission is one practical delivery step within Welsh Government’s wider programme of work to respond to those findings and support a more accurate and informed public conversation about human rights, in a way that young people find credible.
