Centred (Scotland). formally Birchwood Highland, was set up to provide support for people experiencing significant and enduring mental ill health. Initially we delivered this via contracts from NHS Highland, delivering services within the Inverness following the closedown of the local mental health hospital. While these services have grown and are now Highland wide we have also established a 23 bed residential unit that provides step up step down support to people leaving hospital to ready them for living in the community. We have also recently established a Discovery College that is based on the peer led recovery college model. This operates in Inverness, Wick and Fort William. We also provide care at home services in Caithness and Lochaber which helps to sustain our current services.
