Rising Stars (Charity)

Rising Stars is a volunteer-led outreach charity that aims to improve the lives of young people aged 10–18 from underserved areas of Glasgow, using basketball as a tool for social change. In partnership with Glasgow University Sport, GUSA, and many of our partner educational institutions, we deliver weekly after-school coaching and offer wider opportunities as participants progress—such as free academic tuition, mentorship, university visits, coaching qualifications, and competitive play. Our mission is rooted in our “Pay-It-Forward” philosophy: rather than monetary return, we ask that those supported go on to support others, creating a lasting cycle of community empowerment. With the backing of partner organisations and grant funding, we’ve achieved tangible social outcomes and continue to grow our impact locally and nationally.
