Bute Community Land Company owns and manages 160 hectares of woodland at the north end of the Isle of Bute for the benefit of the community. Our key objectives with respect to the community forest is community engagement/ education regarding the Forest and nature restoration, including increasing biodiversity. We deliver and host a wide range of events to facilitate engagement including with schools and undertake responsible land management in pursuit of our environmental objectives. As a community, member organisation we have the ability to own assets that extends beyond the Community Forest and the charity is currently facilitating safeguarding the A listed Winter Garden (including cinema) for the community and visitors.
