5th Airdrie Guide Unit is a member of Girlguiding UK which is part of the largest voluntary movement dedicated to girls and young women in the world. We offer innovative, non-formal education programmes, international opportunities, leadership development, advocacy and community action, empowering girls and young women to develop the skills and confidence needed to make positive changes in their lives, in their communities and countries. We aim to give girls and young women dynamic, flexible and values-based training in life skills, leadership and citizenship. In their unit meetings, Guides follow a programme where they undertake fun activities, learn new skills, play games and earn various badges, supported by trained volunteers. Guides attend various local events and are given opportunities to go away on residential adventure weekends and to also go on international adventures.
