The charity wishes to support the elderly in the community, practically, and emotionally. Our regular meetings invite a variety speakers, and over the year address social issues, practical skills, and entertainment. Each meeting also involves a game of bingo and puzzle pages to help mental alertness, and concludes with afternoon tea and a chance to converse with others from the community. We also organise a day out which includes a meal and visits to local attractions and craft workshops. If funds permit, we also provide a trip to a pantomime followed by a meal. Funds are raised from the Community Council for participation in litter picking in spring, Bring and Buy sales, and Community Welfare grant applications.
