The Notre Dame Centre has had a long and distinguished history, providing a nationally renowned Centre of Excellence that consistently provided services of the highest quality. The early origins of the service were based in a desire to understand and explain the effects of trauma in children and to meet the needs of these children and young people who were experiencing behavioural issues and poor mental health as a consequence of this. The main body of the work of the Centre was the provision of therapeutic services to statutory agencies within Health, Education and Local Authority Social Work teams in and around Glasgow.
