Through its branches the FSSS provides presentations and talks in French, discussions in French and French cultural and social events in six of Scotland’s cities and towns. Through these branches and nationally, it provides financial support to school and university students of French (individuals or organised groups). Nationally, the FSSS supports: financially national schools programmes (French Film Festival and the Fete de la Francophonie). supports financially the annual Future of French in Écosse conferences. offers prizes to school pupils. campaigns for the maintenance and development of the teaching of French in our schools. This year the FSSS organised a conference for business leaders on the implications of working in a multilingual globalised world. The organisation works in close partnership with the French Consulate (Edinburgh), the Institut Français (Edinburgh) and the Alliance Française (Glasgow).
